Rugby is a fast-paced, team sport that originated in England, with two main formats:

Rugby 15 (Union) — the traditional version with 15 players per team, played over 80 minutes. Rugby 15 has been part of the Maccabiah since the 1980s, usually in single matches rather than a full tournament.

Rugby 7 (Sevens) — a shorter version with 7 players per team and 7-minute halves, perfect for fast tournaments. This format gained popularity at the last Maccabiah in 2021.
